Could This Be The Reason Why Most People Don't Like Inter Tribal Marriage

You all knows what an inter-tribal marriage means right? Like an
Ibo-Yoruba marriage, Fulani-Ijaw marriage.
I figured out most people don't like inter-tribal marriage. I once
jokingly said to a yoruba girl on 2go that I might be her husband, she
said I can't be. I asked her why! She simply said it's because she
can't marry someone from another tribe, could this be a norm in the
yoruba tribe?
Actually the yoruba tribe is a very large one in Nigeria, they like
their culture, the yorubas love that culture very much and will do
anything to preserve it. So does other tribes try to preserve theirs
too.
Loves knows no boundary and we are seeing more inter-tribal marriages
these days.
So I might be permitted to say that preservation of culture is the
reason why people don't support inter-tribal marriage.
Am I right?
